Landmark 01 · The crossroads of the world

Times Square & Broadway

Originally Longacre Square — renamed in 1904 when The New York Times moved its headquarters into the brand-new Times Tower at One Times Square. The famous New Year's Eve ball drop has happened here since December 31, 1907. The pedestrian plaza you photograph today only opened in 2009, closing off Broadway to cars between 42nd and 47th.

From our door at 873 7th Avenue, you're a six-minute ride straight down 7th to the heart of Times Square. Lock up and walk the Broadway theater district — twelve blocks of glowing billboards, theaters, and street performers. By far the best landmark to visit after sunset.

Brooklyn Bridge

John A. Roebling's 1883 masterpiece — at completion, the longest suspension bridge on Earth (1,595½ ft span). Built over 14 years and finished by his daughter-in-law Emily Roebling after his son Washington was paralyzed by caisson disease. Separated bike lane since 2021.
